“We sleep safely in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm”
– George Orwell
CopStress is a peer to peer support group. We are current and retired police. All having experienced the stresses of Police work and some of us have experienced PTSD first hand and know what you are facing. CopStress is a confidential support group that helps our brothers and sisters without judgment. We are here, for you, to talk when you don’t know where to turn.
What we do
We provide confidential, free, peer support for our brothers and sisters in blue. We know the lines can get distorted. We know how low things can go, we have been there. We want to help you on your journey through stress to help you come out in a better place. If you just need someone to talk to about your stresses, we are here for you. Like any dangerous situation, wait for your backup to get through a tough situation in your life.
We are always looking for fellow police, throughout the country, who want to offer their time and support to another officer in need. You don’t have to be specially trained, just willing to be non-judgmental and have an open heart and mind to support a brother or sister. We have many ways non-police can help so feel free to contact us even if you are not a police officer.
We are always happy to receive donations from the public. Most people don’t know that almost 40% of Law Enforcement members are former or current Military personnel. We not only peer with Officers but also our Military that are returning vets. Who better to understand the challenges of returning from war, only to face war in our city’s streets daily. We also welcome businesses who want to donate or sponsor CopStress. We welcome all the help we can get to support our brothers and sisters.
